The King Salman International Award for Disability Research launches its call for applications for the 2026 edition. Sponsored by the Research, Development and Innovation Authority of Saudi Arabia, this prestigious award aims to honor scientific contributions that have a major impact on improving the quality of life for people with disabilities.
Areas concerned: Work must fall into one of the following five categories:
Medical and health sciences (early detection, physical rehabilitation).
Pedagogical and psychological sciences (special education, educational policies).
Social sciences and rehabilitation (inclusion, employment, speech/hearing disorders).
Technological applications (artificial intelligence, assistive software).
Universal access (architectural standards, inclusive built environments).
Financial Conditions and Coverage
Each category of the prize is endowed with a generous reward:
Prize amount: 133,000 USD per category.
Distinctions: A medal for innovation and a certificate of honor.
Ceremony: Official invitation for the laureates to the award ceremony in Riyadh.
Deadline: Applications must be submitted no later than March 31, 2026 at 10:00 p.m.
